Wedgwood PRINCETON UNIVERSITY Staffordshire Blue Dinner Plates Set of 12. Offering a complete set of twelve (12) Dinner Plates by Wedgwood in the Princeton University Staffordshire Blue Pattern, circa 1931. Pattern is a blue on white transfer of various buildings on the Princeton University Campus in 1930 in Princeton, NJ. Backs are stamped PRINCETON UNIVERSITY 1930, the respective buildings, WEDGWOOD ETRURIA ENGLAND and the sole importer stamp JONES McDUFFIE & STRATTON. They also have the impressed marks WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND1L31 , showing the production date of January 1931.
See last photo of the original ad found in the 1930 Princeton Commencement program. Set consists of the following plates. 1 TIGER GATEWAY AND LITTLE TOWER. 1 HOLDER COURT AND TOWER. 1 CLIO AND WHIG HALLS.
All plates are in very good condition free of chips, cracks or repairs: please note there are some utensil marks/scratches as well as some light crazing commensurate with age and use, the photo shows the worst of the scratching.
