Johnson Brothers 84 piece Friendly Village Dinnerware SET for 12

  

The Friendly Village for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and Everyday. This is a wonderful 84 piece service for TWELVE in one of Johnson Brothers most cherished patterns. This is "The Friendly Village" pattern that was taken from an original hand engraving.

This set is NOT made in England. The overall colors are a deep, almost black brown background and rim pattern of intricate leaves, flowers and vines, on which have has been superimposed a spreading birch tree and a cherry tree all in bloom.

Picturing a beautiful snowy scene with the snow still falling. On the left, there is a large pine tree , footsteps in the snow heading to the beautiful red church with its bell tower, its windows all lit up with yellow light, and the peaceful village, with another tall spire in the background. Picturing a snow capped barn surrounded by a picket fence, with small birds in the yard and a large, proud, red strutting turkey in the foreground. TWELVE 7.5 Salad Plates. Picturing pale blue ponds reflecting a pale blue sky, with a house, barn, and silo in the background.

TWELVE 6 Bread and butter plates. Picturing a red building with picket fence, and maple trees which have been tapped and then hung with a red bucket to collect the sap and make maple syrup. TWELVE 6.5 Soup Bowls.

Picturing a red covered bridge, quick running stream, mountains in the background. TWELVE 5.5 saucers: picturing a wide view of red buildings, a running stream at the center. TWELVE 3&3/4" wide & 2.5" deep tea/coffee/hot chocolate cups.

Picturing a wide view of red buildings, lovely snow banks, and a running stream at the center. Each of the pieces feature a different, (except for the cup and saucer, which are the same) lovely winter village scene with the buildings, farms, animals found in a wonderful place...

The structures are colored in soft red tones, the snow falling is a creamy white, and the lights which are shining from the windows of the houses and church are colored in a wonderful soft yellow... The borders of each plate are a combination of lovely blackish/brown leaves.. I have added pictures of each individual piece, and one of the entire place setting. I have pictured the back of flat plate, the rounded soup plate, and the saucer of the cup. The marks are essentially identical on each of the pieces.

These pieces are microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe, and while they will serve beautifully for an old fashioned Thanksgiving AND Christmas, they could certainly be used everyday as well. The dinnerware has never been used, and comes from my smoke free home. And reflect the special packaging required to make certain that these pieces arrive to you safely and in perfect condition.
